Good morning boys and girls, Please enjoy this video of me reading one of my favorite superhero stories to you all. We will discuss it more tomorrow.

good morning boys and girls this is Miss Feliciano welcome back and I hope you all had a wonderful and restful spring break Sweet Frog read aloud will be starting with the theme about superheroes and the title of the story that I'll be reading to you is Dex the heart of a hero the author is Carolyn buehner illustrator is Mark buehner now I know we haven't discussed this in a while so I'd like to review who can tell me what an author does that's absolutely correct good job the author is the person who writes the story and the job of the illustrator good job boys and girls the illustrator is the person who is the beautiful pictures in the story okay let's get started with our story and find out what makes decks a hero in this story as we begin our kindergarten themes of superheroes for this way text figured that a hero must have strong muscles he needed exercise and lots of it death started trotting to the corner and back every morning he hopped over every crack in the sidewalk he struggled to climb the garbage pile up and over and down then up and over and die call Jen all day long day after day even at that time when he wanted to flop on the rug with his tongue hanging out decks forced himself to Circle 5 extra X the mighty Jax pressed on through wind and rain and storm and fatigue boys and girls another word for fatigue tired let's say fatigued everyone fatigue okay if I am fatigued I am tired Dexter was feeling fatigued he was tired from all the exercise he was doing when it got easier to run to the corner and back decks did it again and then again she dragged a sock filled with as he ran into socks cheapest was bored and stood in the middle of the sidewalk to block his way just drop to the ground and slid right under him he was too busy to be bothered by cleavus text was tired he was sore he was working so hard that he almost forgot he was working for but one night as he dragged himself to bed after his last set of push-ups deck stopped in front of the mirror and flexed you could feel them he could see them muscles faster than a rolling ball stronger than the toughest Rawhide able to LEAP tall fences in a single bound didn't take the stairs sheepskin he leaped over hydrants he bolted up curves he could jump over the garbage Mountain without touching the top he would run the wind he felt as if his legs had spring only one thing was missing finally a small brown package arrived decks ripped it open his hero suit it was red with a shiny green cape and felt like a glove text love the way it felt he loved the way it looked and he loved the feeling he had when he put it on he was ready with the courage of a lion the strength of a bear and the Heart of a friend Windex went out in his suit for the very first time he looked up the street and down he noticed a young puff trying to cross the street text Brian to app may I help you he asked he guided the wide-eyed pup across the street and grinned as the pup stared up at him with its mouth hanging open the pop whispered wow it's super dog Superdog that's like the sound of that of course when clip is stored X he just had to comment hey Jack's where's the party and when he saw him a few days later please it's cold out look everybody it must be Halloween baby got a treat for Dad text was so busy that he was able to ignore cleavus for the most part the only time and space even got red was when cleavage yelled where did you get that dress up just had to wonder if cleavus store anything but the suit didn't he understand that the suit was just a way to let people know he was there to help the sun glinted off of his Emerald Cape as super dog raced to the rescue there was a mouse he saved from underwear a purse snatcher tackled he fixed his neighbors sprinkler he found a lost kitten call the rat Livewire track down a lost wallet put on a trash fire and organize a neighborhood cleanup day I needed help they turn to Dex and Dex had never been happier late one evening there was a banging at the door when decks answered the whole neighborhood was yelping and yowling in a panic it's livas they shouted he's stuck in a tree hurries XR text raises eyebrows it was not like sweetness to moving up to get into any trouble in a Flash he was dressed and ready it was clearly a desperate situation I think I'm closer Dex could see cleavus he had been chasing a squirrel to the top of the tree but had slipped and was hanging by one from a slender branch he was yelling for all he was worse I'm slipping cleavage Screech help me Dex looked desperately around for something to there was no boxes or ladders not even any trash cans then decks looked at the crowd quick everybody gets shouted I've got an idea just leaped onto the end of the teeter-totter facing the tree pushing it to the ground everybody on the other end 1 2 3 all the anime jump together on the other end of the teeter-totter catapulting decks into the air he soared over the crowd his ears in case streaming out behind him the Mighty Ducks flop into the dark and Starry Night text scrambled onto the branch next to cleavus quickly Post Office Cape and tied its Four Corners onto the screeching cat jump deck shouted jump clearance Snoop Dogg with an ear piercing shriek sleeveless let go the billowing Cape Court the air and parachuted the Big Cat To The Ground text and slid to the grass missed the cheers of the crowd text with bruised and tired but he forgot his discomfort as Cletus sheep asleep over still Tangled in the green cape thanks text you really are a hero she could feel any better but he did just a the next day when sleeveless side up next to him and whispered say Dex could I be your partner Dex look the big torn up cat up and down it take a lot to work to turn cleavus into a hero he could hardly wait sure said decks with a grin Shore with twice the brains and the brawn are heroes or John ever ready to lend a helping hand the end boys and girls I hope you enjoyed that story very much and that's you could see being a superhero also means doing the right thing so even though cleavus was giving decks a hard time in the story deck still help him and had him join them to help other people too have a safe day boys and girls remember to help your families keep washing your hands stay home and I will see you tomorrow when we will talk about the story in detail thank you
