Hello there! Welcome to 5th and 6th Grade ELA! My name is Mrs. De la Rosa and I am the English/Language Arts teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. I am so excited to be your ELA teacher this year!

My teaching career started in the 5th grade at Lincoln School in 2016, and since then I have worked with a wonderful team of teachers. I have spent many years studying Literature, in particular Reading and Writing skills, as I graduated with a Bachelors degree in the subject in 2014. For two years, I worked as the 5th grade ELA teacher at Lincoln School. This will be my third year teaching ELA for 6th grade, and I am looking forward to every minute of it. I truly enjoy reading and writing, and hope to make all of my students excellent writers and avid readers like myself. I want my students to believe in books the way that I do, where books allow us to step out of reality for a moment and step into new worlds that are left uncharted.

I have many plans for my students this year that will allow for student success through fun and engaging lessons. In this classroom, students will be exposed to many genres of literature, interact and collaborate with one another on partner assignments and group projects, and will be challenged to read and write beyond your student's own expectations. We will incorporate new vocabulary into our word inventories, as students will learn a variety of words, such as root words, academic words, and even more as they are exposed to different texts. There are loads to learn this year, and I am hoping each and every one of my students is prepared to join me on the ride.

If you need to reach me for any reason, please feel free to contact me at my email- [email protected] or you may call the main office here at Lincoln School.
