- Follow this instructional video to practice the correct way to form letters and you can print out this writing grid to practice writing letters.

- Use Level I for fluency practice on this resource
- Practice reading these grade level one passages by timing your child for 1 minute (first graders are expected to read 69 words per minute by the end of first grade DIBELS Assessment. It's okay if they don't. You can just keep practicing with them, especially during the summer.)
*Remember: You are your child's first teacher. I recommend reading with your child daily, even if it's only 10-20 minutes, and have a discussion about what you read. This interaction between adults and children is valuable for the child's development of language and thought. During these brief encounters, you are teaching them how to speak and how to follow a train of thought by building their confidence.
