Welcome to the First Grade!

Dear Parents,

Hello! My name is Ms. Fuda. This is my fifth year of teaching and I am so excited to work with you and your children. We are going to learn a lot this year, and have fun doing so!

Your child’s education is very important to me, and we must work together as a team for the best outcome. Having your child prepared for school each day will help them succeed. The children should have their school bags with them everyday, as well as other needed belongings.  

Reading is very important in all foundations of education. I ask that you read at least 30 minutes a night with your child. Every child will be given a Scholastic reading level, which will make it easier for you to select books to read.

I will send the test papers home every few weeks. Tests with grades 65 or lower are considered failing grades and must be signed and returned. The other tests can stay home and be proudly displayed.  Please check your child’s homework folder everynight for other important papers or memos.

Please send a written note or email to me if your child has any allergies or religious preferences, so that I can accommodate them.

I will have extra help starting September 19th and every Wednesday after that. Extra help will be from 8am to 8:30am in room 103.

Supplies:

Please have the students bring in the following items as soon as possible:

4 composition notebooks

4 folders

Pencils (please make sure they have 2 everyday)

2 Safety sissors

2 Glue sticks

2 boxes of Crayons

2 boxes of tissues

2 dry erase markers (skinny)

2 packs of Clorox Wipes

1 pack of Ziplock bags

1 soft pencil pouch or case.

Please label your child’s belongings.
