good morning boys and girls this is Miss Feliciano welcome back for a weekly read aloud and I have a very special story today the title is Giraffes Can't Dance okay and the off is Kyle Andre remember we said that the author does what yes writes the words to the story the illustrator for the story is Guy Parker Reed and who can tell me what the illustrator does absolutely good job the illustrator is the person who made the beautiful pictures for this wonderful story let's listen to it now Giraffes Can't Dance Jones was a tall draft his neck was long and slim but his legs were awful Bandy very long and thin and as you know giraffes do have long thin legs he was very good at munching leaves from the trees Detroit run around at the knees boys and girls buckled mean said he would end up bending his knees now every year in Africa they the jungle dance Gerald felt so sad because when it came to dancing he was really really bad the warthog started Walton and the Rhinos rocked and rolled the Lions dance the tango which was elegant and bold The Chimps all data cha cha and ate Splendid Scottish reel hey look at clumsy Gerald Giraffes Can't Dance you silly fool Gerald simply froze up and he started walking home the moon can be so beautiful excuse me a cricket but sometimes you're different you just need a different song with the Cricut picked up his violin then Gerald felt his body do the most amazing and leaped in the air I am dancing I am dancing I am dancing Gerald cried the animal shouted it's a miracle must be a dream Gerald the best dancer that we ever ever seen then he raised his head and looked up at the Moon we all can dance he said if we find the music we love the end boys and girls I hope you enjoyed that story and as with all my stories there's always a little lesson and the lesson in this one is that it's okay to be different or it's okay to do something differently from someone else we all have our own song each one of us is unique in our own special way just like Gerald have a great rest of the day please remember boys and girls continue helping your families washing your hands and staying home I'll be back with you tomorrow to go over the details of the story
