Ms. Moreno

I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  My name is Carina Moreno; I have worked 19 years as a teacher and this is my 11th year as a 1st grade teacher.  This year, we are privileged to have a cooperative teacher with us in our classroom. Her name is Laura Santana and this is her 18th year teaching.  She has had experience working with students in grades K-8.

We are looking forward to working with your child this year and helping him/her achieve his/her full potential.  Through the remainder of this short handbook, we will share some of our beliefs and classroom policies.

I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success.  Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement, and I strongly agree with that.  We are working together as partners in the education of your child. As partners, we should both be fully aware of your child’s progress. Throughout the year, I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, texts, and parent-teacher conferences.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call the school office at 201-295-2850 and schedule an appointment to see me.
