Information About Me
Hello! I have worked for North Bergen Public Schools since 2007. During my career in North Bergen, I have worked in both resource and self-contained classrooms. In my current postion, I work on the Child Study Team. In addition to working in classroom environments, another aspect of my job includes providing training to staff members and colleagues. Topics I have presented on have included: teaching procedures used in educating children on the autism spectrum, increasing language skills within the classroom environment, conducting preference assessments and dealing with difficult behavior.
I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Developmental Disorders from Seton Hall University and a Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Caldwell University. I have been a certificated Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2013. Additionally, I hold New Jersey teaching certifications in both elementary and special education.
My thesis for graduate school focused on training staff to correctly teach skills by using Discrete Trial Teaching, a widely used teaching procedure in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have been fortunate enough to share all that I learned while pursuing my Master's degree with my colleagues in North Bergen.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and two sons. I especially love watching both of my children play at their sporting events.
